you maybe onto a good point. In the past black kids were not allowed in the public pool down south when they had their Jim crow laws and such. People tend to take up a sport that their dads or mom's did. I was not surprised when they panned the audience and say, that is so and so's dad who was an Olympic bronze medalist in 1968 etc. So it is possible that black kids didn't get as interested in the sport because it was not a family sport. Mainly because their parents or grandparent had no chance. Instead followed the sport of their mom's or dad's. Interesting point.
