The Equestrian Events, including Dressage, are followed closely by me and others in the Calgary area, where one of the international competitions is held each year at Spruce Meadows.
Dressage requires cooperation between rider and horse which equals or exceeds the precision necessary in many athletic events, and no "enlivening" is needed (perhaps SJ would like to see the riders in bikinis).
