Subject: RE: Any Pure Prarie League Fans???
Never heard the group. But I've heard OF them. In fact, in the mid-1980s and finding myself between jobs, I answered an ad for someone with writing ability, who was familiar with word processors. This was at a time when not everyone and his pet chicken did practically all of their writing on a computer. I was sort of "cutting edge:"   I had a KayPro II and I was a whiz on WordStar. And I got the job, as a technical writer for the Bonneville Power Administration's residential weatherization program.

The guy who interviewed me and later became my direct boss was named Joe Taffe (rhymes with "waif"). In the course of our getting to know each other, I told him of my folk music background, and he told me that at one time he had sung with a group called "The Pure Prairie League." Unfortunately, we never had a chance to get together with a couple of hot guitars and swap a few licks.

The job came to an end when Ronnie Reagan cut the funding for the program. Thanks a bunch, Ronnie!!

Apparently they changed personnel quite a bit over the years, and I don't find Joe's name listed among the various group members. But he would have been with them pretty early on.
