Thread Name: BS: What's Better Than a Fresh Tomato
Subject: RE: BS: What's Better Then a Fresh Tomato
We have had a terrible summer, with drought and temps over 100, yet my tomatoes are producing. I'm getting enough to eat and plenty to freeze.

Spaw, sometimes the dermatologist has to freeze pre-cancerous cells on my face. This produces a red area almost like a burn. They tell me to apply Vaseline to the sore spots because keeping a wound moist helps it heal from within. Do you suppose that would help your canker sores heal faster? What could it hurt to try?

They also told me to keep Vaseline on an incision. Same philosophy.

Bobert, in an emergency, cherry tomatoes are pretty good in winter. I too freeze tomatoes for winter cooking. Sometimes I whiz a few and make salad dressing from them. It tastes wonderful, but you have to eat by candlelight because red tomatoes on green lettuce look kinda weird.
