What about the other direction?
My laptop (Compaq, a year or so old) won't come on. It does give me a message on a black screen (which I don't understand) so I guess it's trying..but I don't know how to open it to a place to select something to make it go ahead and run.

I flipped it over and looked for fuzz and it looks surprisingly clean.
What is Plan B, when cleaning doesn't help?

Cord seems fine.
Fan runs like it always did.
