Lovely! Sounds like you had a great day. I had an interesting visit to the local coin shop (in Barrie)today, sold some old coins for a really decent price. The guy there is a true hobbyist, does it for the love of it, and pays you what the stuff is worth instead of ripping you off.

Given that I already know what the stuff is worth, having done quite a bit of research first, I've avoided getting shafted by various less scrupulous outfits of which there are many around these days. Chris gives me 85 to 90% of what he'll sell the same item for. The gold and silver shops that have sprung up all over will sometimes give uninformed (and most often elderly) people as little as 10 or 15% of what the item is really worth!

With this sort of thing, as with most things, it's best not to be in a hurry, but to spend some time investigating and getting a number of different quotes before making a decision.

Now if ONLY I still had that old Hula Hoop! ;-)
