Although Henry's instruments are an actual Dobro and an actual National as indicated by the upper case D and N, some folks refer to all spider bridge instruments as "dobros" and all biscuit or tri-cone instruments as "nationals". Even before Gibson bought the Dobro name, OMI, previous owners, tried very hard to discourage this. The Dobro Newsletter was forced to change its name to Resophonic Echos since it advertised non-Dobro resophonic guitars. I assume that they were afraid of the word "dobro" becoming generic like Cellophane or Kleenex. It seems that they are fighting a losing battle.
