Las Vegas is (in)famous for its varied entertainment (Cirque de Soleil and Dream among them), reasonably priced hotels, gambling and showgirls.

In reality, it is a fine city with a good university, natural history and science (three, varied), children's, railroad, atomic testing and art museums, a botanic garden, a pleasant temperature in winter, and a middle class atmosphere to much of the City. Varied foods offered at the many ethnic and North American restaurants.

Nearby lakes, Mojave Desert flora and fauna close by. Not far to Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Zion National Park.

An excellent place to visit in winter and spring, but hot in the summer.
