In general, right-wing politics seem to be more filled with anger in their rhetoric.... But nuts is nuts, ya know.

I'd say another difference is that a not insubstantial number of right-wingers are supportive of their nut-cases while today's lefties almost universally condemn theirs. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone on the left who thinks the actions of the guy referenced in the opening post of this thread were justified, but you don't have to dig very hard to find right-wingers who think the guy who shot Gabrielle Giffords should receive a medal.
