I started mowing lawns, trimming hedges, shovelling snow in the winter and horseshit in the spring, weeding gardens and whatever at 11. At 15, I got an underage work permit and worled 11PM to 8AM seven days a week at a gas station for a summer.

Nowadays, when the teenagers stand in the liquor store foyer with their hands out so they can fund a trip for their ball team to some place I can't afford to visit, I think to myself... yeah, raisin bums is a real fuckin good idea eh?
