Huey Long was a mixed bag.. many of his platforms were 'leftist' in their day, but many of his actions and attitudes were very 'rightist'.
If he were alive today, he'd either be in the Republican party or some minor party such as Libertarians... he certainly would not be happy in today's Democratic party. (Same with Abe Lincoln) His form of 'Democrat' largely disappeared with the Dixiecrats in the 60s.
