On that we agree, Krinkz... Here in North Carolina we have a major problem... Small employers just ignore the workman's comp laws... Heck, they ignore the IRS laws and pay people cash and call them "independent contractors"... No taxes... No FICA... No workman's comp... No nothing and guess what??? They get away with it...

You get messed up on the jobs site and it's tough, better luck next time... Oh sure, you can file suit against the employer who either hides behind some LLC or doesn't have a pot to piss in so if you win then he just BK's on you and you lose again...

The "Charlotte Observer" writes about it about 2 or 3 times a year, year after year but it never changes...

Good on the Dems for requiring the DNC Convention contractors to not only be legal but to use union labor... And, of course the usual people will do their blah, blah, blah union bashing but it ain't costing the DNC anymore to use union and legal companies than it cost the RNC to put on their convention...
