Thread Name: The songs of Paddy Roberts.
Subject: RE: The songs of Paddy Roberts.
On a whim, nipped into the local Oxfam shop - and there were the two Paddy Roberts EPs in very good condition. They were £3.99 each. But I couldn't resist - especially when I saw the bit on the sleeve about "to clean use a fairly dry martini". They are first pressings by the look of them, 1959 and 1960.

Took me straight back to 1959 when we grammar school boys used to play things like this on our Dansettes - a prelude to the much more rebellious stuff which came later.

Somebody on one of the threads namechecked Jake Thackray, Ian Dury and Noël Coward in connection with Paddy Roberts - very perceptive I think.

I now have to find out who was in the Dennis Wilson Octet/quartet, who presumably play on the tracks, as Dennis Wilson did the arrangements! Not THAT Dennis Wilson, the other one.
