Someone seems to have misread the intention of my post. It was to state that a number of singarounds happen despite the organisers - rather than because of them. I gave some examples of where these had happened. It helps if there are a few of you - a mix of music and singing seems to work best - and if you do things that the regular customers are likely to know.   Very seldom was it that the landlord ( lady ), after we thanked them for the use of their pub did not say ' hope to see you again next year'.
I don't think that anyone organises the sessions at Sidmouth - they seem to happen despite the organisers - and if you don't like one, you can go elsewhere and find a different session or start your own.
