I thought I hated coffee and hardly ever drank it for 40 years. Then, in Venice last October, we found we couldn't get a decent cup of tea at any of the cafes we went to. They gave you a teabag on a string, still in its outer wrapper, and a cup of rapidly-cooling water. Useless! So, reluctantly, I started to have cappuccinos. Couldn't believe the difference between them and the loathesome instant coffee. We now have an espresso machine and a grinder, and a morning sans coffee is unthinkable. Bit of a fiddle, but well worth dumping the Nescafe for!
