Subject: RE: where is the Red House
There's an Old Time session most fridays, where a few of us sit and play appalachian tunes from about 8:45 onwards. There's usually one, often 2 or 3 fiddlers a banjo or two, a banjo uke, one or 2 guitars, maybe a mandolin or a bass. The standard is pretty good most times. Of course in the OT tradition we stay in the same key most of the night! There seems to be a temporary landlord in at the moment, so we're a little worried about whether the pub will stay open - we're looking around for a possible substitute. There may not be a session for the next two fridays as some of us are going to some fiddle and banjo workshops in Gainsborough with Dave Bing and Dwight Diller from West Virginia. It's usually best to ring up Bill Cox 0114 2438502 about 6:30ish on friday to find out if the session's happening. Cheers Ray
