You know, I'm not totally sure about this yet and I said the same thing about the Red Socks winning in '86, but I think Folk Music may be making a comeback! I know it's growing in leaps and bounds in my area.
Some of you who came to my gatherings may remember Mike Gilhool who wrote and sang his song about hitting Bruce Springsteen's dog. Well, he came to my house the other day looking for some Sea Shanties to sing at an art gallery exhibit locally. I loaned him my copy of The Boarding Prty and turned him on to the Mudcat DigiTrad. BTW, he mentioned later that he was impressed with the DT, but couldn't find any chords to the songs ;-). I had to tell him that usually they were A Capella, but he wanted some he could play and sing. We were there for his performance and it went very well. He did do Handsome Cabin Boy and Drunkin Sailor. He did others but I cannot remember right now. He expressed an interest in the Getaway next year. He would be a fine addition.Long live Folk!!
