Two years ago I visited Saratoga Springs on a college tour for my daughter. I tried to get into Cafe Lena's but they were closed that night. The list of coming events posted outside their door was very impressive.

There was a similar place here on the coast of Maine. The Left Bank Cafe in Blue Hill hosted some of the greatest names in folk and blues music. I once saw Cheryl Wheeler there. I know Dave Von Ronk, James Taylor, Christine Lavin, Richie Havens and many more have played there. The room holds maybe 50 people and that was after they expanded. Unfortunately the placed changed hands and I have not heard any good reports out of there lately.
