It never occurred to me that Grishka would be other than male - after all, the name IS derived by the Russians from the Greek male name "Gregorios", as well as being a traditionally Scots male name, is it not? And does not one naturally think of Grishka Otrepeyev, the early-eighteenth century Pretender to the throne of Russia? I don't understand how there could be any confusion.
