There are aphids on the plants because something is making them a little weak in the garden. They are opportunistic in that way. Make sure you're not over-watering. And if you want to rinse them off with a mix of dish soap in water, spray it on and it should kill them. Orange oil works, a couple of teaspoons per gallon (or it will kill the plants - full strength it is an herbicide).
