One of the main reasons I refused to get an iPod
was because
[as I understood it]
Apple deliberately designed the device
to be impossible for a user to change the battery.

Battery malfunction would require either a costly repair at a service centre
or an expensive Ipod being discarded and replaced with a new model.

For practical reasons I prefer to carry spare fresh charged batteries
for extended use of equipment I own.

If that cynical corporate design policy was true,
I don't know if it still applies to & affects consumers
buying into latest Ipads & Iphones ???
