Was anyone else moved and facinated by the story of U869 that was aired on Nova this week? What got me the most was the interview with the captain of the Uboat that sank the Ruben James. He rightly assumed that he'd sunk a British destroyer. After the war, he said he learned about the 100 men and the cold water, and that it shadowed his life thereafter.
