We can vote early (I just verified that), but I like the experience of going to the polls. Of course, it's a small town. The first time I voted, it was elsewhere. I stood in line for a long time in an echo-y school gym, with a lot of irritated people. It's a lot more fun going to the town hall, chatting with the campaign folks out front, and buying bake-sale stuff inside.
