Guest, I suspect you speak of the Primary Elections. In the USA there are definite rules as to when one can vote in any election.

I too like the ambiance of Election Day itself but this year I was thinking of going early. Then the other evening I got a call from a volunteer urging an early vote. I told her I'd been thinking of doing it and said she had made me decide to go tomorrow.

So I went "tomorrow" and discovered that in Alaska, voting early (as well as absentee voting) is not legal until TODAY, October 21.

Humph. Maybe I'll go tomorrow.
