hi Everyone, the UFQ are on tour in the UK starting on Thursday. The 20 date tour includes a performance at the Royal Albert Hall of a piece that Joe Broughton has been commissioned to write and the UFQ have been working on for months. It's for 700 young musicians...yes 700(!) and will be performed at the RAH on 12th November as part of the MFY Schools Proms. The piece is essentially a huge folk piece with all the orchestras, samba bands, rock bands, singers, dhol drummers, rappers, dancers etc. etc. etc. having learnt the entire piece by ear. I've been lucky enough to assist Joe at some of the rehearsals and it is incredible!!! Anyway, we here in the UFQ office hope that you'll catch up with the band somewhere soon...! JS x
