There was a well-known bar in Pensacola called "Trader John's". Trader John (the man, not the bar) always wore mismatched socks. In fact, he had a standing offer of a $10,000 reward to anyone who ever caught him wearing socks that matched. He died a few years back with nobody ever claiming the reward. As far as I know, he was buried wearing mismatched socks.
