Unlike many friends, I am not a collector. I spent $1,800 on a Nick Apolonio flat top and I brooded about the expense so much that I avoided playing it (I stuck with my old Gibson B-25). Eventually, I sold it to Jean Farnsworth, who loved Nick's guitars and knew that he had retired from the luthier biz to build sailboats.
Actually, I have yet to find a flat top to equal the touch of my 1961 Gibson, for which I paid about $500 some 25 years ago.
