I got my double degree in Biology & Environmental Studies when ecology was still the red haired step child... 1973. My college was one of the few that had a long standing tradition of teaching the field. I currently work for a state conservation agency that would be doing a better job if we could get rid of the political hacks who get the plum positions and then obstruct the work at the behest of their political sponsors.

I try to leave as small a carbon footprint as I can and still get to work. I support genetic modification as a tool - but deplore its abuse by the agrichemical industry. I own a small farm that is low input and mostly pasture or woodlot. I practice and live what I preach, how about the rest of you nay sayers?
