Nope. Not coincidence at all. The GOP ran against Obama using "dog whistle" phrases, and in the end even gave up on dog whistles, and was openly racist. Take a look at the Bill O'Reilly quote I posted above. That's the modern GOP.

Why in the world would anyone expect American blacks to vote for the person whose party is actively campaigning against them?!?
