Hello fellow Mudcatters,

I'm helping to organize a benefit event on Wed. December 6th in East Atlanta at the Echo Lounge: Campaign to End the Death Penalty.

Musical performers, speakers, and silent folk art auction.

Because it's in the middle of the week at a club that can be less attended, it's important to get at least one band/performer with a good draw. We can have 4-5 musical acts.

Lots of heartwarming support, including the club itself. It's encouraging and exciting. We have to make $340 to cover the cost. Plan on suggesting a $10 donation at the door, but anyone poor but with a good heart can negotiate that down.

So far we've gotten the support of a local music magazine and a band that can draw 20-25 people. We're sending emails and placing calls to fairly famous folks around here. There's not a lot of time for promotion, but there's an urgent need to do this before Dec. 10th.

We plan on making posters, flyers and handbills...have a budget of $150.00.

I think we can pull it off...open to hearing constructive suggestions...
