Thread Name: BS: Schulz's 'Peanuts'
Subject: BS: Schulz's 'Peanuts'
Let's discuss the late Charles M. Schulz's comic strip "Peanuts," once the most popular comic strip in America.

It fascinated me in the '50s because the little kids in the strip were unlike those in any other strip. They were more like maladjusted grownups than kids. In other words, they were like kids like me!

I think Schulz began losing his touch when he got hung up on Snoopy as a World War I fighter ace. Day after day after day of chasing the invisible "Red Baron." It got old. It must have been 1965 or '66.

Any classic strips you care to remember?
