"Transvetite" - now that is a typo with real possibilities. I'm not sure what it might be used to mean, but it's a word waiting for a meaning.
And thanks for the nod, 'spaw. How I see it is, if someone says something you want to reply to, you reply to it, regardless of whether there might be a whole bunch of other posts in between. It no different really from other settings where you're trying to communicate and there's a lot of noise..
Just because my letter box is full of junk mail and so forth it doesn't mean I can't reply to a letter. And in a crowded pub we can all be having different conversations with different people at the same time, and still exchange views and information and crosstalk with each other.
Except it's a lot easier here, because it stays put in black and white. It can help of course if you indicate what it is you are replying to, with a quote or a link. Otherwise it leads to misunderstanding as to who you are argeeing with or disagreeing with.
