My exercise today has been extricating heavy metal objects from the cellar and schlepping them upstairs, out the door, and into close vicinity to the back of the car. Think I've got enough stuff to make the trip to Harding Metals worthwhile.

Baked a batch of shortbread for a Scots friend who gave us a lovely 2-meal container of nicely spiced chicken curry. Finished it up last night for supper -- the perfect meal for me sleep deprived with an upset tum. It had just the right amount of heat to settle my stomach and, best of all, I didn't have to do anything but heat it up along with the leftover rice from the previous meal. Oh, and open a Bass Ale to split with Tom. That was about all I could handle yesterday.

Also baked a chocolate cake for Tom. His indulgence is cake and icecream. How he manages to keep his youthful figure, I haven't a clue. (Although he's been having the occasional problem buttoning his jeans.)

Got to find some time to spiffify the house sometime between now and Sunday -- and between then and now is taking the stuff to Harding, tomorrow's Press Room session, and Saturday's sea music singaround. And bring a couple more chairs upstairs. Steve Carrigan has a folk show on WSCA, a local (Portsmouth, NH) community radio station, and has wanted Tom on it since the beginning (earlier this year), but that was foiled by Tom breaking his ankle. Steve REALLY wants Tom on (we'll record the show here) in the first year of the show.

Onward.
