Sorry it's Ed T' who has neighbour flaunting a Veteran licence plate.

My husband and I both feel deeply ambivalent about those licence plates. He's still serving, and when he finally gets out will have more than 30 years in, including a tour in Germany and three deployments: Bosnia, Haiti and Afghanistan. Neither of us feels enough like a real veteran to put that plate on our car, although between us we have lots and lots of operational time in.

May be it's because we both grew up surrounded by "real" veterans ... and we didn't face the Nazis (thank God), so we ain't.
