Israel is here now, it's here to stay and we should not tolerate stupid talk of wiping it off the map, etc. Israel is full of ordinary people, Jews and non-Jews alike, who deserve peace, security and whatever prosperity they can muster. The politicians in Israel have persuaded their people that they are surrounded by hostile powers who are dying to eliminate them. This is simply not true (every problem Israel ever has with its neighbours is fuelled primarily by the Palestine issue), but hey, politicians are always at their most persuasive when they tell their people how they're protecting them from foreigners. Falklands factors and all that.
