Thread Name: Wanted: Songs of Cape Breton and P.E.I.
Subject: RE: Wanted: Songs of Cape Breton and P.E.I.
of course helen creighton, what ever her questionable political views and exploitation of the poor, did collect hundreds of nova scotia folk songs. perhaps thousands, and she aided the collection of gaelic songs of cape breton and acadien songs of nova scotia. she had neither french nor gaelic so she didn're arrange or edit the gaelic or french songs as she did with the english ones.

and of course peggy seager wrote "the springhill minning disater" a song so good she is an honary nova scotian, and gorgiven for her connection to ewan maconman
