Thread Name: Origin: Fall of the House of Usher (Alan Parsons)
Subject: Classical gtr: 'Fall of House of Usher'
A few years back now, I went to a classical guitar recital. The guy did this amazing piece called "The Fall of the House of Usher" - at least I think that was the name, it could have been "The Masque of the Red Death", but it was definitely an Edgar Allen Poe title.

I can't remember the tune exactly, but it had a great theme to it which repeated through the piece. It built up to a big crescendo, and then the theme started again, but this time played entirely in harmonics so it sounded like a music-box.

It blew me away completely, but I've never found anyone who knew it, and going back to the organiser a couple of years later, he couldn't remember it. Does this ring a bell for anyone here? and if so, do you know if anyone's recorded it?

Cheers,

Grab.
