I still agree with Ake, except I believe some people intend to troll. BUT, we are responsible for our own actions though, and "but ma, he MADE me do it!" just doesn't work.
As for suffering in silence, what good does it do to make the shit public? The people you're telling probably don't want to hear about it. The guy who pissed you off will possibly be happy to learn he succeeded, and you get to look like you "lost it" a little.
I've had nasty messages from people. If I know it's going to be nasty, I just delete it before reading. Sometimes I read it and then delete it (mainly so I won't reply). If you give those who wish to piss you off the desired reaction, they'll keep doing it.
