What on earth sort of 'official index' could that have been? Millais was a founder-member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, along with Rossetti and Holman Hunt; and one of the most distinguished of Victorian painters. His 'Bubbles', a marvellous study of a child's first realisation of the concept of death and ephemerality, The Blind Girl, Ophelia, Christ in the House of His Parents, Isabella and the Pot of Basil, et al, are among the highest points of British C19 art.

I ask again ~~ whatever purporting to call itself an 'index of artists' could possibly have omitted him?
