I was thinking today we've discovered a way
to escape from the Earth, it's the birth of an aeon.
We can fly to the stars, make the far planets ours:
then I thought of the Man in the Moon.

We have taken our sweat and we've taken our brains,
and we've grabbed all we have of our worldly possessions.
We've taken the best and used all the rest
but you can't take the man from the moon.

you can chain him away where the shadows are looming.

you can tie him to the ground,
but you can't take the man from the moon.

Now there's some that go hungry and some die in war,
and the reasons we hear they're completely confusing.
But you take it in stride though you feel mystified
and we think of the Man in the Moon

And the astronauts say if you judge by today
there was never a Man in the Moon
