Anna On My Mind by James R. Krause © 1999 Old Sod Shanty Misic, BMI 1. Like a dream that lingers at the dawning of the day
I catch glimpses of her just that way
When the world cannot hear, she calls out "Daddy!" from behind.
Once again it's ANNA ON MY MIND2. When the sun has gone to bed, and the stars come out to play
And I feel like this has been a long, long day
I get my old guitar, sing a song and yet I find
Once again, it's ANNA ON MY MINDBridge How many years have come and gone,
Gone in the twinkling of an eye
Birth announcements never written, never sent
Another dream gone awry3. Summer comes and goes, Fall brings Winter snows,
If I make it through Christmas, I'll do fine
To the tinsel and the lights, some will say I am blind
Once again, it's ANNA ON MY MIND.That's part of Christmas to me. Needless to say, I don't go to too many children's Christmas pageants. I keep thinking of all the folks who would've loved her. She'd be a very pretty young woman, now no doubt.
