Thread Name: Lyr Req: Rambling Robin
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Rambling Robin
Hi Robyn (not a rambler), well, I am a bit of a rambler, I walk and I talk and sing some songs, including this one. Haven't sung it in a while but maybe that's just my queue, I sang 'Raglan Road', when no one else would sing while I was in Spain this summer, ramblin' on the Camino with my wife. And a great reaction I got, I was well pleased. Last week I sang in Prague, an Irish night. Best reaction was to 'Paddy's lamentation' in the style of Sineád O'Connor, they all seemed to know the line 'to the devil I do say, God curse......'. Tomorrow, in Prague, another Irish night, béimís ag caint gaeilge agus beidh filiócht againn freisin. Beidh an file Ailbhe Ní Ghearbhuigh anseo leis an dán 'Deireadh an Feide'. Breath suas ar an sráidbhaile 'Aas' sa bFhrainc. Songs to sing, maybe, 'Back home in Derry, jug of punch, wild mountain thyme, roll back the clouds and maybe Nelson's farwell', who knows, take me to Clare Island, the green and red of... Looking forward, Noel P
