Yes, leeneia, I started doing that a few years back, after seeing another guitarist who was using the acrylic nails. They work wonderfully. You can not only pick with them, you can also "brush" (sweep forward across the strings) with them, and they won't break.

They have been a huge asset to my guitar playing. I have to get "fills" put in at the back about every 6 weeks as the nail grows out, and it only costs $15 to do 4 nails on the right hand. A bargain. I'll never go back to using uncoated nails.
