Re preserving the folkinfo song database data. What would happen to the this was discussed at the outset. There always was an agreement that if folkinfo closed, we would do our best to ensure this remained available.

While here, just a bit of info on the converter and MusicXML. The output is pretty new to the converter but it has accepted it as input for a fair while. It uses xml2abc.py and abc2xml.py from http://wim.vree.org/svgParse/index.html and to translate between the two types of musicXML (of which the python scripts only handle partwise) parttime.xsl and timepart.xls from the musicXML website.

Anyway, I think the converter is safely in Simon's hands now.
