Well...I actually found frozen "stir fry vegetables"...alas, they didn't include water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, mini corn, or anything else that one would expect in Chinese stir-fry vegetables. The only vegetables included were those I normally have on hand frozen or prefer to buy fresh. And NONE of the fancy grocery stores had any canned oriental products other than LaChoy. Sigh.

I DID get the Medaglia d'Oro instant espresso. And one of the stores even had an optional brand. No hunter's sauce or sauce chasseur or demi-glace (even the expensive concentrated "gourmet" brands). And, while a couple had a reasonable decent selection of Knorr products, none had the bouillabaise base, either.

Oh, well. I got the instant espresso.

We'll make the hunter sauce -- got plenty of my really rich chicken stock in the freezer to use as a base.

But, boy, am I glad to be home!
