For me it has to be sherry, sounds boring but there is nothing like opening a bottle of Harveys on Christmas mid morning while everyone is opening their presents and while I am cooking the Christmas meal. I tend to stress over the cooking so a couple of sips of sherry seems to make everything fall into place. However I take care not to have too much as I have been known to mislay crucial parts of the meal like the stuffing balls or the roast parsnips! It has always been a long running joke in the family.
