I think that "Love Me Do" was initially recorded with Best, regarded as sub-standard and re-recorded with Starr, regarded as sub-standard again then recorded for a 3rd time with Andy White. There's been controversy over whether the Starr or White version was the one generally released, but a couple of people I know who are really into their drumming are convinced that the drumming on LMD is "obviously" in White's style and "sounds nothing like" Starr.
