The Stone Ponies were Folk Rock.

Later work by Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and perhaps even Jackson Browne were Country Rock.

I took a chance on some recent groups ('cuz the CDs were too cheap) and found that Electric Range (mid 90s by some leftover 60s types) and The Last of the Good Guys (both the group and the CD name) are first rate Country Rock.

The art form lives on.
