It's very different to what I understand about US health system. Do other churches & compassionate organisations offer similar health systems?

Well, let's see. I can really only speak to my own experience, but I suspect the answer as far as other denominations would be yes.

Here is an example from our housefire in 2000. The Church Insurance Group would gladly have hired a lawyoo to sue the landlord, till I explained that he had become a friend, treated us well, and we had employed one another's young men for their first jobs outside their own families-- that we did not want to sue and we fir sure did not want our happy, leaseless (handshake) agreement threatened with hard feelings. (And we have been here now since '94.)

So the CIG paid our claim without suing him. The landlord's insurance did turn around and sue us and our insurance, because that is what secular, profit-driven entities do. But the whole time they were doing this, our landlord had no idea it was being done in their name. We just never brought it up, even as weekly mail came and went all about the gory details. But when the landlord's family found out (around final settlement time), were they mad. "Those 'tenants' are our dear friends! Stop this suit at once! You cannot do this in our name!"

Hardi had buried their patriarch, Walter.... because they asked him to, and because Walter had just loved sitting in our driveway watching our ducks. (There is a MudThread about that one.)
