My suggestion might be.. if you will spend a few $$.. to get a portable recorder.... like a Zoom My wife has an H2 and I have an H1. Good sound and then easy to transfer TO the PC.

I got the H1 for $99... the H2 will do editing tricks, but that can be done after it's on the PC.

They are pretty easy to operate...espec. the H1.
